Meet Erin ~ Meet Erin ~
Hi, I’m Erin.
I’m Erin Pownall Burns, the person behind Foreground Property Works. I’m a licensed social worker and property problem solver serving Rochester, the Finger Lakes, and Upstate New York.
I buy properties and help owners work through situations that have become difficult to manage. I like asking questions, getting into the details, and figuring out what might actually help.
A little more about me
My background is in social work, and I jokingly call myself a “recovering therapist.” I still train people for peer support roles in the substance use disorder field, and I’m a sometimes adjunct professor at Monroe Community College.
All of those experiences shape how I listen, explain things, and work through difficult conversations. I care about how a conversation feels. You should be able to ask questions, say you’re unsure, or tell me something doesn’t work for you. I want to understand what matters to you, including the things that might be hard to put into words.
I also really enjoy the practical side of this work. I like getting into the details, understanding the complexity and nuance of a situation, making useful connections, and figuring out what’s possible. Sometimes there’s a deadline in the mix, too, and I take that seriously.
When I can help, I’ll explain how. When something is outside my experience, I’ll say so.
It’s important to me to do good while doing well. To me, that means building a business I can be proud of, taking my responsibilities seriously, and caring about how the work affects people and communities.
Properties are part of people’s lives. I want the way I do business to reflect that.
Have a property on your mind?
You don’t need to have everything figured out before you reach out.
Tell me what’s going on, what you’re worried about, or what you’d like to see happen with the property. We can start there.
